    • Line 3 travels from northeast to southwest of Tehran. This line is considered an important line as it connects the southwestern parts to the northeastern, crossing busy parts of the city, causing traffic reduction. About 7 Km of line 3 became operational in December 2012, followed by 12 Km in April 2014, and finally, the last section, which is 18 Km, opened on September 22, 2015, increasing the length of the line to a total of 33.7 Km
    • The line starts from northeast of Tehran at ”Shahrak-e Qa’em” going westward parallel to but 300m north of ”Artesh Expressway”, passing through ”Aghdasieh” neighborhood. Then it turns south at the end of Artesh Expressway heading towards ”Nobonyad Square“ turning to ”Sayyad Expressway” running southward along its way for about 5.6 Km. At “Sabalan Square”, it turns west, going under ”Beheshti Street”, intersecting with line 1 at ”Shahid Beheshti Station”. It then turns towards south, going under ”Valiasr Street” for 7.7 Km, reaching, at last, ”Rah ahan Square”, providing access to Tehran railway station. It then turns towards southwest, passing through ”Javadiyeh” and then going along ”Cheraghi” and ”Saidi” expressways. The line then terminates at ”Azadegan Station” at the intersection of Saidi and Azadegan expressways
